Day 12, Christmas Eve! Time to bring out the sparkly heels. I won’t be wearing these all day – they’ll be slipped on for cocktail hour this evening.

The plan is to put the little one to bed after hanging up her Christmas stocking; do the final preparations for tomorrow, perhaps with a mug of mulled wine in hand; then slip on a fancy party dress while my fiance mixes me a vodka martini. That’s the fantasy. Let’s see how the reality measures up …
